Where to travel cheap in Brazil – Litoral
Of course, Brazil’s beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world. Some of them we rarely explore and offer better prices than the more popular ones.
Others are already famous, but without abusing the price. Some advice for those who can’t live without a dip in the sea while on vacation:
City of Maragogi in Alagoas
The city of Maceió is known as one of the beaches of the Brazilian Caribbean, so you can already imagine the beauty of the sandy beaches and coral reefs that await you.
Ideally located on the border between the states of Pernambuco and Alagoas, Maragogi is a small city, but with incredible beaches. In addition to being beautiful, it was also chosen by the Metrópoles portal as one of the 10 cheapest places to visit in Brazil in 2020.
Its access is remote and there is no airport. However, you can get off in Recife or Maceió and head to the city without too many problems, arriving in about 2 hours. One of the easiest ways is to take the bus, a more economical option that optimizes your expenses during the experience.
-Camocim and Icaraí de Amontada (CE)
They are two small cities in Ceará that keep true secrets. The two are very close to the famous neighboring village of Jericoacoara, but there are very few tourists, which increases the tranquility. And of course, great prices and beautiful beaches.
There is an airport in Jericoacoara with regular flights, and from there you can transfer. But it is also possible to arrive by car from the state capital, Fortaleza, a five-hour drive away. From the capital it is still possible to go by bus, saving traffic and fuel.
Enjoy local life, charming hotels and restaurants for affordable meals.
Region of the Lakes (RJ) – Highlights of Arraial do Cabo
Already known in Rio de Janeiro, the Lagos region is made up of some of the most famous cities when it comes to paradisiacal beaches. Also in 2017, the G1 portal listed the 10 most beautiful beaches in the Lagos region for anyone interested in visiting.
Guarapari (ES)
Guarapari is only 50 kilometers from Vitória, which makes transportation even cheaper. All commercial airlines fly to the capital of the state of Espírito Santo. From Victoria, you can rent a car or take the bus and stay in one of the hotels that the city offers.
The beach is quieter and more organized. Guarapari’s nightlife also attracts tourists, who have fun in attractions open to the public. At the same time, local cuisine is also in great demand, offered by many restaurants, and prices are not expensive.
The main destinations include Arraial do Cabo, Búzios and Cabo Frio. Of these, Búzios can be the most expensive destination, depending on how you travel.
Cabo Frio is already the cheapest city, but it is much less attractive and even a little less safe. A good option is to go to Arraial do Cabo and enjoy day trips to other destinations.
Travel cheap in Brazil – Cardoso Island (SP)
São Paulo also has a beach that will make it onto our list of cheap places to travel in Brazil!
Ilha do Cardoso is part of a national park that maintains 90% of its native vegetation. You can go by car, but only part of the way. The rest is done per lane.
To save even more on your trip, you can stay in one of the communities of residents on the island. Although access is controlled, it is worth visiting the beach and getting in touch with nature.
Travel cheap in Brazil
In addition to the beaches, Brazil also has several cheap destinations in some of its capitals and larger cities. They are ideal for those who like to get to know other parts of the country, taste the local cuisine and let themselves be enchanted by the cultural attractions that each one offers.
Belo Horizonte (MG)
Belo Horizonte is a paradise for heritage lovers. In addition to nearby tourist cities, such as Ouro Preto and Marianas, the city has several UNESCO heritage sites.
Gastronomy, culture and architecture are the three pillars that support tourism in the region. There are many pleasant walks, the Savassi bar is super famous and the food from Minas Gerais is simply delicious!
Best of all, you can travel cheap if you find airfare deals that are usually not expensive. Hotels and accommodation are also affordable during low season.
Curitiba in Paraná
The capital of the state of Paraná, located in the south of the country, is a vibrant and culturally active city, with famous tourist attractions such as the Ópera de Arame, the Botanical Garden and the Oscar Niemeyer Museum.
However, Curitiba also has free visits and tours, that is, they cost almost nothing. You can visit exhibitions, museums and parks for free. In addition to tourism, you can save on accommodation, as there are a wide variety of hostels and cheaper hotels in the city.
Belém in the State of Pará
Believe it or not, except for the Círio de Nazaré season, Belém is a little visited city. As a result, its shorter trips tend to be more affordable, making it one of the cheapest places to travel in Brazil.
You can visit historic churches, markets, exhibitions, museums and squares for free. Strolling through a ver-o-peso market is a super authentic (and touristy) experience that doesn’t cost a fortune.
In addition, the dormitory system is quite popular in the area. That said, you can stay for less and focus on fully understanding and enjoying the area’s experience.
So, which city seems most attractive to you? Leave your comment!
